SINGLE BULLET THEORY Close To Signing New Record Deal
December 5, 2006Vocalist/guitarist Matt Difabio of the Philadelphia-based metallers SINGLE BULLET THEORY has issued the following update:
"We spent most of 2006 writing and recording the new disc… Had to sorta pick up the pieces after the band split up after the AMORPHIS tour. Regardless, it took a while to orchestrate the recording and mixing of the new disc (tentatively called 'The Killing Floor'). The disc was recorded here in Philly at Jason's (SBT drummer) studio and we flew down to El Paso, TX to mix it with Eddy Garcia (PISSING RAZORS). It came out great, and suffice it to say this is our best work to date. Samples of the new work are available at www.myspace.com/singlebullettheory.
"The band has been on the backburner, really, since we split with Crash Music. We had such a bad taste in our mouths about the music business that we really didn't even know if we wanted to keep trying. It's been a long, hard fucking road with MANY obstacles in the way since day one. Regardless, we forged ahead and got done what we needed to. In retrospect, I am glad as everything can only get better now.
"We have been doing tons of regional shows in the Northeastern region of the United States. Basically, just been trying to keep the rust from forming, truthfully. We have met a lot of great bands recently and plan on continuing networking with shows after the holidays.
"In June, I worked out a deal with Madison Amps and we joined their artists roster. I have to say that it is the best piece of equipment I have ever owned. I have nine amps and haven't turned any of them on except this one since the day I got it… Also got a great sponsorship deal with AXL guitars and love them to death too. I may [be] down at NAMM in the AXL booth depending on how we can work out our next show's date.
"Speaking of that… We are recording live at Rhawn Street Studios (Northeast Philly) on January 20th. Should be killer… a real, raw live disc with no overdubs or bullshit. The recording will be packaged together with our new studio disc. If you are interested in attending the live performance, we can email you directions via our MySpace page. The live room holds just under 100 people and space is filling up fast so contact us for tix ASAP.
"In regards to the new CD, we have worked out some details with a great label and it looks as if SBT will be signed again and with very, very good distribution. The person who owns the label is an old friend of mine who has been kicking serious ass for the last eight years and I feel confident that we will have a great relationship. When the deal solidifies, I will post the news. Until then… it's a mystery!
"I hope to see all the Philadelphia-area SBT fans out at the show January 20th. SBT is back and ready to kick some ass again."
